Treś Fine Custom Suit Process
A great suit doesn’t start with fabric—it starts with a conversation. At Treś Fine Clothing, we build custom garments around your lifestyle, your proportions, and the way you like to show up. Whether you’re dressing for the boardroom, your wedding day, a milestone event, or you simply want to elevate your everyday style, we’ll guide you step-by-step from first consultation to final fitting.
Step 1: Style Consultation
We start by learning what you need the suit to do for you. You’ll sit down with a style coordinator to talk through:
– The occasion (work, wedding, formal, church, daily wear, etc.)
– Your timeline and how often you’ll wear it
– The fit you prefer (modern, classic, relaxed, athletic)
What you love (or hate) about past suits
This is where we get clarity—so your finished garment feels intentional, not generic.

Step 2: Fabric & Design Selection
Next comes the fun part: choosing the materials and details that make the garment yours.
We’ll help you select the right fabric weight and texture for Birmingham’s seasons—then lock in the design elements, like:
- Lapel style, buttons, vents
- Pocket styling
- Lining color/pattern
- Monogram options
Shirt pairing recommendations (if needed)
You’ll walk away knowing exactly what you’re getting—and why it works.

Step 3: Precision Measurements
Fit is everything. We take detailed measurements and account for posture, shoulder balance, and how you naturally stand and move.
This step is how a suit becomes your suit—not “close enough.”

Step 4: Basted Fitting (Your Fit Checkpoint)
To deliver a cleaner finish and a stronger fit, we use a traditional basted fitting—a try-on stage where the garment is temporarily assembled so we can refine it before final construction.
At this fitting we can fine-tune:
- Jacket balance and drape
- Shoulder line and posture
- Waist suppression and comfort
- Sleeve and trouser break
This is where “custom” starts to feel unmistakable.

Step 5: Construction & Finishing
Once the fit is dialed in, your suit moves into full construction. This is where craftsmanship shows:
- Clean structure and shaping
- Crisp finishing details
- A garment that looks sharp and feels natural when you move
Our focus is simple: quality over brand—because the best look is the one built specifically for you.

Step 6: Final Fitting & Pickup
When your suit is ready, you’ll come in for a final fitting to make sure everything is perfect. Any last adjustments are handled in-house so you leave with a suit that’s truly finished—tailored, pressed, and ready to wear.
We also keep notes on your fit preferences, which makes future garments faster and even more consistent.

What to Bring
For the best results, bring (if you have them):
- The shoes you plan to wear most with the suit
- A belt (if you wear one regularly)
- Photos of styles you like (optional)
- Event details + date (for weddings/formalwear)
